I work as a developmental and substantive editor for individual authors as well as for institutions. My clients have included Harvard University’s Nieman Foundation, the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, the Solidago Foundation, and other nonprofit organizations.

I co-edited Telling True Stories: A Nonfiction Writers’ Guide (Plume/Penguin, 2007) with Mark Kramer.

Recent books I ha've edited include the memoir of a civil rights lawyer, published by Chicago Review Press in Fall 2009, and a narrative history about U.S. and Soviet stewardesses, published by the University of Pennsylvania Press in Spring 2013. I have served on the editorial board of Dollars & Sense magazine and as staff editor for Grassroots International. I am part of the advisory board for the online literary journal Conversations Across Borders and serve as faculty coordinator and advisor for Goddard College's new undergraduate literary journal, launching in Spring 2014.
